Dr. Seema Gurnani, MD (Pathology), a distinguished consultant pathologist, is the founder of IHPL Global LLP. She is trained medical practitioner specializing in Medical healthcare diagnostics with over 30 years of work experience. Today, IHPL Global LLP proudly serves leading maritime companies, ensuring healthcare & medical treatment for the sea farers.
In 2000, IHPL Global LLP expanded its services into the maritime sector by registering with and securing approval from the Directorate General of Shipping (India), under the Ministry of Shipping. This pivotal move enabled IHPL Global LLP to partner with prominent Indian maritime companies, international ship management firms, and global drug and alcohol testing organizations.
A pioneer in the industry, Dr. Seema Bhisham Gurnani introduced Unannounced Drug and Alcohol Testing for the maritime sector in India. Today, IHPL Global LLP proudly serves leading maritime companies, covering approximately 95% of India’s tanker tonnage, ensuring safe operations through comprehensive testing and management programs.
Further strengthening her credentials, Dr. Gurnani is an approved consultant with Ericson and Richards, renowned ship and marine surveyors. She serves as a panel doctor for the screening of candidates seeking navigational and engineering licenses, Seamans Identification Books, and conducts medical examinations for seafarers serving under the flags of Liberia, Marshall Islands, and Vanuatu.

a) Pre-Sea and Periodic Medical Examinations
Conducted in accordance with the Directorate General of Shipping guidelines and the Medical Examination Rules, 2000. All examinations are performed by qualified and trained personnel, prioritizing health assessment and medical treatment of crew on board ships.
b) Mental Healthcare on board ships
IHPL Global LLP provides Mental healthcare of diagnosis and treatment for Mental disorders of crew onboard ships including drug and alcohol testing .
c) IHPL Global LLP provides emergency medical supportto seafarers through its Medico Advice Module. This service offers real-time medical aid and treatment advice for illness & injury incidents of crew members while they are on duty onboard ships. In addition, it facilitates the coordination of medical repatriation, post-repatriation hospitalization and treatment, as well as rehabilitation and assessments for return to duty.
